Ladies! Gentlemen! Jazz ! Galery69 hotel presents! 13 November 2015
Polish-Norwegian Quartet. Jazz returns to our autumn stage with the line-up:
Ruth Wilhelmine Meyer – vocalist from Norway, Grzech Piotrowski – sax, duduk, Sebastian Wypych – double bass, Terje Isungset – multi-instrumentalist from Norway (percussion instruments made of stones, wood, sticks). Grzech’s history is long, 14 albums, there is much to talk about, much to write about. The appetite for his music grows with every new track.
Grzech and I have known each other for years, since the beginning of his career, I grew up with this music, I educated myself with it. The world of music is so rich in tempting trendy sounds and it is so easy to fall into the temptation of going astray. You need to have a very strong core in order not to drift away into musical kitsch in this infinite abundance. This core is Grzech’s music and his lectures, which he never spared in our numerous conversations. They are woven into discussions about music, about life, about art. An attentive listener can draw from these meetings in handfuls. You can listen to his records in any order, and wonder which music is the first, which is the last. I think that the perception of music as being younger or later is only related to the age of the listener and his or her emotional level. At any given moment I always love the freshest, currently from the album “One World” by World Orchestra. Wonderful musicians accompany Grzech on this project, creating an aura of authenticity that cannot be imitated.
